Relay For Life
July 12th 2008
Was held in Chuck hometown of  Tehachapi

This year's theme was “Celebrate Life”
On July 12, the community joined in the fight against Cancer. As they celebrated their survivors, honored their loved ones and remembered those who lost the battle, they became much stronger than ever as a community in our fight against cancer.

Twilight July 12th......... People joined on the football field track to honor and remember family & friends who have faced and battled cancer. Luminaries were set along the track shining with love and support for those named on the bags. There were hundreds of them.

My daughter and 3 year old granddaughter came with me to take a lap around the field. A few hundred people young, old, walking, in wheel chairs were also there for the same purpose....to remember, to honor, to help and hope.

Going around the track slowly I found the ones I donated for and then I came across at least 5 with either Kevin J Connors and a couple with Chuck Connors name on them.

The legend lives on........

*Relay For Life not only raises money to fund researchers working for a cure, but it allows The American Cancer Society to reach out to all people to educate them on the benefit of early detection, cancer awareness and support.  To become involved in 2009 you can go to their website Relay For Life    "You can make a difference!"

The person who wrote the names out omitted the 's on Margie.  It was from both of us (Margie's').
