'Home Ranch' episode # 2—I watched the second episode ever of "The Rifleman" after hearing what a good show it was as a nine year old. The episode started off as a major disappointment to me as I already disliked Chuck Connors as an actor from "Old Yeller" and was dismayed that he "allowed" Oat Jackford's men to push him around in the first half of this episode... |

Another great quote—‘‘Old man, if you’d been any slower you’d have a broken wrist,’’ he tells Oat Jackford. Go, Lucas!—‘Duane |

| 'The Sheridan Story' episode #16—Unlike, Sweeney, I didn't dislike Chuck because of "Old Yeller" - I was too busy crying when they shot the dog!! I loved the Rifleman from the start and I have lots of favorite quotes or scenes. I am an absolute sucker for those Lucas/Mark talks!! One of my favorites is when Lucas is trying to console Mark in 'The Sheridan Story' and tells him that there are lots of good things in the world "like roast beef, moon rises and a boy and his father riding out together!" I loved that line!—Linda C. |
