Whether they have appeared one time only or 168 times, they are just as important as the main characters and/or anyone else involved in The Rifleman. This is just a small tribute to those great many characters actors.
This section of character actors is dedicated to each & everyone one of the character actors that appeared on The Rifleman.
 They're among the most popular and recognizable actors. They may not be A-list stars, but they do something many actors don't. They worked all the time.

Robert Knapp played Dan Hewitt in A Time for Singing.
He's the one who pretended to be Reverend Gethers.

Before The Rifleman he appeared with Chuck in Tomahawk Trail (1957) as Pvt. Barrow ― later in Arrest and Trial (1964).

He appeared in the (1965) TV Soap Days of Our Lives (1965) as Ben Olson Hopalong Cassidy (1954) ― The Roy Rogers Show (1956) ― Cheyenne (1961 -1962) ― Gunsmoke (1962 -1971) ― The F.B.I. (1965 -1972) ― Dragnet (1967) Highway Patrol (1955) ―  Boots and Saddles (1957 -1958).

Martin Kosleck as Joe Stanic in Old Tony.
 He was the one who filed a complaint against Old Tony.

Martin Kosleck has appeared in such things as The Man with Bogart's Face (1980) — Which Way to the Front? (1970) — Agent for H.A.R.M.(1966) — Morituri (1965) — 36 Hours (1964) — The Flesh Eaters (1964) — Hitler (1962) — Something Wild (1961) —Spy for Germany (1956).

He was born in Barkotzen, Germay. He specialized in playing Nazis (he was once admiringly described by a film critic as "the definitive Nazi swine"), in reality his vehement opposition to Hitler and Naziism landed him on a Gestapo list of "undesirables" and he fled Germany one step ahead of a Gestapo death squad. He he once told an interviewer that his playing Nazi killers and exposing people to the evils of Naziism was his small way of paying back what the Nazis had done to him and his country.

Berry Kroeger as Ansil Bain in Closer Than A Brother.

Berry Kroeger began acting professionally on the radio. He was the leading player in The Falcon and performed in numerous serials including Big Sister ― Grand Central Station Young Dr. Malone Inner Sanctum. He appeared as a guest on the Lux Radio Theater The First Nighter Program Orson Welles's Mercury Theater of the Air and he narrated The Big Story, which presented dramatizations of reportorial exploits.

He appeared on Broadway for the first time in 1943 as the leading man in Nunnally Johnson's play The World's Full of Girls. He played opposite Ingrid Bergman in Joan of Lorraine and was in several productions with Helen Hayes. He also appeared The Tempest Therese Julius Caesar Reclining Figure Shangri-La.

In Hollywood, Kroeger, an actor with an imposing presence, often portrayed villains. His movies include The Iron Curtain (1948) ― The Dark Past (1948) ― Act of Violence (1949) ― Down to the Sea in Ships (1949) ― Chicago Deadline (194) ― Gun Crazy (1950) ― The Sword of Monte Cristo (1951) ― Blood Alley (1955) ― The Mephisto Waltz (1971) ― Atlantis, the Lost Continent (1961).

He retired for reasons of health several years ago.

Fred Krone as a Brawler in The Wrong Man.

Fred Krone, often called "Krunch", was an stuntman who worked predominately in movie Westerns.

One of the few lifetime members of the Stuntmen's Association of Motion Pictures, Krone specialized in high falls and fight scenes, earning the nickname "Krunch" early in a career that spanned three decades.

Krone performed acting roles and/or stunts in more than 75 television shows and movies, including The Range Rider (1952 -1953) ― Buffalo Bill Jr. (1955 -1956) ― Sky King (1956 - 1958) ― Mission: Impossible (1969 - 1972) ― Wanted: Dead or Alive (1960) ― Maverick (1961) ― The Rifleman (1959) ― Yancy Derringer (1958 -1959) ― The High Chaparral (1969) ― The Houston Story (1956) ― Laredo (1967) ― Lost in Space(1967 - 1968).

A resident of nearby Fillmore for more than 30 years, Krone was also a successful photographer, rancher, clock manufacturer-distributor, and family man.
