appeared twice in The Rifleman The Money Gun as Oat Jackford, he is the cowboy who Asa Manning hired Tom King to kill ― Short Rope for a Tall Man as Ben Crown, the owner of the horses that Mark almost got Lucas hung for stealing.

Harold J. Stone played Oat Jackford in Home Ranch.

He also appeared with Chuck in Arrest and Trial (1964).

He was the first actor to play the role of Lt. Columbo, in a 1960 episode of The Chevy Mystery Show (1960).  Eight years before Peter Falk became famous in the part. 

Bert Freed played detectives, gangsters and sheriffs.  

Bert Freed was born November 3, 1919 in The Bronx, New York
He died August 2 1994 in Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada of a heart attack.
He retired from acting in 1986, and died of a heart attack in Canada in 1994 while on a fishing trip with his son.
